Express Your Gratitude While There Is Still Time

With the help of a friend, I tracked down my third-grade teacher, Sr. Mary Stella, the shining star of my grammar school days. Yesterday, I called her to express my gratitude for the teaching and encouragement I have never forgotten. When I had her as a teacher, she was 27; now she is 73. I asked her if any other former student had ever contacted her. She said no. That both surprised and saddened me.
