Sam Cooke Glosses Soren Kierkegaard, Brenda Lee Blaise Pascal

Soren Kierkegaard, somewhere in his voluminous Journals: "What I essentially lack is a body . . ."

Sam Cooke: "It's another Saturday night, and I ain't go no body. . ."

Blaise Pascal in the Pensees: "The heart has its reasons of which reason knows nothing."

Brenda Lee: "My Heart Has a Mind of its Own"

UPDATE: I wrote this post last night in a sentimental mood after a couple of brewskis. When I woke up this morning I realized I had confused Brenda Lee with Connie Francis. So I was wrong! A liberal would say that I lied.
